Ultimately the story led us nowhere as it fell flat on its face. Water wars? Excuse of an American type culture that didn’t really make much sense eventually.Sweet Lord, what was that chicken scene?.Gwen (Adunni Ade) not fully entering Sam’s cabin before screaming that “what the hell is going on here?” line.The blindfold idea used in executing two different situations as if the writer was bereft of ideas.Akpororo and Eniola Badmus came through with ‘wakapass’ roles to simply forget.When did Samuel and Gwen’s relationship start? We just suddenly saw them all lovey-dovey on a boat.‘ Boss of all bosses’ housed a couple of irrelevant scenes, unnecessary elements and chopped up scenarios that just suddenly happens. Picture looked okay for most of the time although sometimes I just didn’t get what was going on with it. I could see the body microphones at times. Usually why using boom microphone is a great idea. The body microphones caused quite a lot of them, especially when the actors hit themselves. Yes, it’s comedy but who are these people? This is one major issue with a lot of movies here. I couldn’t figure out who these characters were as they constantly morphed into puppets that went where the wind blew them.

The single most annoying thing for me as concerns this movie was the fact that the story had no root. I thought the reveal of the actual CEO, Thomas was way too early as well. The opening scenes of the movie could have been better but it is what it is – Funny and annoying at the same time. The character, Sam, played by Chinedu ‘Nedu’ also had a bit of the same problem but managed it better. It’s bad enough that there are inconsistencies even in character portrayal. True that most comedies are character driven doesn’t mean a character must be overly animated such that we see that the character/actor is constantly trying to draw laughter. The relatively unknown lead actor’s overacting is very well noted. There’s probably not much of a problem with slapstick in comedies but when it’s overdone, it’s never good.Īlso, it is true, there is nothing new but there are fresh ways of pulling old tricks. The experimentation with a foreign style of making comedies tends to fall flat most times because of incessantly forced slapsticks and a lot of copy and paste. It really does haunt with its shrill and stop and start inducing nature. The hideous voice over that haunts us through this movie. Like something that should get us expecting good characters and probably some arcs, right? *sigh* Well, we’ll get to this later. Thomas suddenly takes over the reins of the company and brings in another prospect, SAMUEL to compete for the position, giving Tony a lifeline to fight for his place in the company after his initial mess ups. Actual CEO, THOMAS, who anonymously placed Tony in charge, is the cleaner right under his nose that he maltreats. TONY has been an interim boss for five years and a bad one at that.
